Don't see stag like this much anymore. Semi skinner blade style, flat ground nice and thin from CPM 154.

It's a beautiful knife. It's a shame we don't see more of this style knife. George Herron was a master at making them. Loveless,of course. Wayne Hendryx and David Wesner(Kelsey Creek Knife Works) are 2 makers currently making beautiful and functional hunters.

I'll take it!
Oops, wrong forum - its not for sale - YET!

Great looking piece, Danbo.
Looks like Christmas came early.

Damn, Starr beat me to it! :D That is a sweet little hunter Danbo - enjoy!

That is a sweet little hunter.
Anyone know the dimensions?

Maybe Russ will chime in with the specs. I believe the blade is around 4" or so. I just knew, from the 1st time I saw the pics, that I had to have it.:)

The blade is 3 3/8" X 1" X .170" CPM 154.
Edge is just under .015"
Handle is 4 5/16 X 5/8 at the thickest.
Mounts are Stainless.
The stag was not deliberately dyed, but darkened
somewhat when I applied mineral oil to reduce
size changes.

This ultra simple style is one that I've used alot
since the mid 70's. The handle shape is non-limiting
and very accomodating in all the positions that we
might use while dressing game. I dubbed it "favorite"
some years ago, and it still is. :-)

Danbo, I have an earlier 'favorite' hunter of Russ' I'll swap ya. :p

Man, that is sweet! Congrats, Danbo, great job Russ.

Staglicious!
