Sambar Stag scales on an RD6 or RD7 blade?

I've got a black RD7 with the orange micarta handle and love it. Justin says he can make me a satin finished one with stag scales or sell me the blade only so I can mount the scales. How hard would that be? I'm pretty good with my hands. I've assembled a couple of ARs and done some tinkering with my knives (removing black coating, convexing edges, etc.)
