im still new into the world of Busse and custom knives so be kind

so i had bought a Custom boss street from this forum and fell in love with the knife, the melt down tech, shape, weight, grind, the only thing was the mammoth tooth scales. I was afraid that they would get damaged so i bought another one i found to be my user. this one had wood scales (different seller) but when i got it the two knives were very different. The spine thins in toward the tip, the blade shape has a slightly rounder of a shape to it, the weight is more in the handle and less balanced, and the grind is different. On this one you cant see where the grind starts. It runs into the blade more, on the mammoth tooth one it has a more defined grind and is much sharper and the spine on the mammoth tooth blade runs true all the way to the tip, with a more dramatic melt down, which makes the balance better and the weight lighter. could all this be because of years the knives were made did Jerry switch his the design.

pics were hard to take on my big ass tablet so sorry about quality.

No he didn't switch the design, the shop occasionally makes variants of particular knives. It sounds like what you have are variants of the Boss Street.

don't get me wrong i love them both but the mammoth tooth one looks like it was forged somewhere not of this earth. i wish i could find a bigger blade with that melt down.

There are lots of big ones with a nice meltdown treatment. Just look for things with names that start with "Nuclear Meltdown" or "NM."

Mammoth tooth is as hard as bone. Unless you throw it down on a hard rock you can't break it. I've owned a few and was pretty hard on them. Don't worry...

the thing with this one is its mammoth tooth frags in a white epoxy. its the epoxy mold i would worry about.

NMSFNO and NMFBM for bigger and way bigger. Maybe an SS4 if you want to go lighter in the same size range
Eta: the CABS is one of my favorites

the picture of jaxx, knife is a nmsfno. nuclear meltdown special forces natural outlaw. in case you were wondering. awesome blade.

some versions of the team gemini also had the nuclear meltdown treatment.

Damn jaxx I would love to see your busse collection

Well, first, he would have to rent a stadium or some other really large field. Then he would have to get a blimp or a drone to get the arial shots. But it is all for nought, as his insurance agent will not let him post a pic of his complete collection. So it goes.

So true.:o

They are pesky people. Very insistent.:(

Most of it is posted in pix on this forum over the last decade. Gotta be over 750 images scattered within. :)

Great looking blades. I did something similar with the AMS because I liked the design so much. One satin and bone and one CG. Both are users. My suggestion would be to use the one you like more.
