I have made for same knife new sheath to try dyeing for a first time, and it didnt end so good probably because the dye is drying fast and i tried to apply to small amount of a dye at time. And the edge could be better...Please criticism welcome:)

Dye is a fickle beast. How did you apply? I don't dye much anymore but when I do I've gone to using a disposable foam paint brush. This gives me the most even coverage of anything I've tried. Looking close at your pics its possible that the unevenness is in the leather. Specificly that diagonal streak. That may not be your dye job just the material. Hard to say for sure.

I dont think its leather, I used cotton swabs, and when I tried to even the dye on places where it was too much, dye was allready half dry and I beleive thats why its uneven

Yeah try the foam brush next time. It will get you more even coverage.

Somebody else may have some ideas but I never had much luck evening out a dye job like that. It always seemed like it would get worse not better. You're welcome.

Those are inexpensive enough at HF, but it's even less to use the big horse sponges from Tractor Supply. They are about the same in use but you can cut them to whatever size you like. I like the piece to be as wide as the project, then I keep a scrap to buff off the residue. They work really well for that job too.

Mac, add a little oil (mineral, coconut, neatsfoot, etc) to your dye. About 5 parts oil to dye should help dry time. I'm not sure which dyes are available to you, but Fiebings Pro Oil is generally considered the best.

I like the design and the stitching is clean, the color is a nice contrast. Go bold or go home. ;)

Thank you Strig, I'll try that. My dye is of unknown origine probably something from Italy. I know that you use pro stuff like Fiebings but its still to much now for me to buy from USA because in my country I can not sell anything so easy (not only sheats, i braid also bracelets) and cant sell abroad because they not allow us to be payed by Pay Pal ( our governement not Pay Pal) so I could pay but not be payed:grumpy:
