I did use tools to complete this and epoxy as well, so its not a truly great piece. Perhaps a future one using pitch and other means.

Have you considered doing a firekit this style? A Karesuando reindeer fire striker like this: http://www.orvis.com/orvis_assets/prodimg/1G09HH9.jpg
along with some jute and charcloth would look pretty awesome as a traditional scandinavian firekit. I'd be interested to see all your scandi stuff in one big kit.

Making antler handle firesteels is really basic stuff to be honest, I have made MANY hahaha. Its just the little carving that would be the challenge, really though its a simple little stick deer
