I just received $75 via paypal from a forumite to help Samarai Dave pay for his journey to Catoosa. This forumite prefers to remain anonymous but I can tell you he is one of the good guys.

Dave, your karma is not bad, but rather good it seems. Email me so I can get the money to you. I know more is going to be coming so let me know how much you need and where to send it.

Dave had e-mailed me with the story and It was in my mailbox this morning.
I knew that he was terribly disappointed as the tone in his letter is the same as it is here.
I believe that's the 1st time I could hear anguish in the written word.

This gesture proves the kind of people that frequent this forum and that they are indeed in person just as they are here. I'm proud to know you all and be known as a friend as well.

I dropped a quick Email in his box to check out the "Samurai Dave is going to make it to Catoosa" thread.

Good news,

My radiator is fine, all that burst is the lower main hose. I replaced that and all my other hoses today, and ironically I found out that some of the hoses I had on there were the origional from 1983!!!!

I figured I should start with the minimum dollar amount and just start replacing the cheapest stuff first so after replacing the hoses I took water and filled the radiator back up, just to see how bad it was... and guess what... NO LEAK!!!! :D :D :D

The way the lower main exploded yesterday made me think my radiator was toast, but after driving it around all day today I am pretty sure I can make it to Catoosa and back with no problems. After thinking about it, this might be a blessing in disguise, imagine being out in the middle of nowhere and one of those 18 year old hoses blowing!!!

I want to really thank whoever sent me the money. Those fitted hoses are not cheap, and what has been given to me will cover that cost.

I respect the individuals of this forum, and I now know without a doubt that Himalayan Imports knives are the best in the world. Not so much because of the knives themselves, but because of the family that support them.

Thank you all, it will be a pleasure to meet you all in Catoosa!! :D :D :D

Money will fly your way on Monday, Dave.

See you in Catoosa!

And, yep, it's that Zen rope Satoshe mentioned.

All's well that ends ______ ? ( I ain't saying nutting! )

To quote Julian of Norwich, one of the English mystics:

" All will be well,
and all will be well,
and all manner of things will be well. "

I really believe that is true. ( In the end that is! )

Between now and then, the only thing worse than a God with a sense of humor is a God without a sense of humor. Oy Vey!

So here we are,
In the Tiajuana Jail.

Ain't got no friends,
To go our bail.

So here we'll stay,
Cause we can't pay.

Just send our mail,
To the Tiajuana Jail.

( A word to the wise about double checking the directions, Dave.... ? )

Our neice told me about Mapblast as a way to find directions to anyone's house.
And I mean Anyone's!!!! I have a Bro on the forum who didn't show up in mapquest, but he shows up on the other one, probably somethin' he didn't want to hear.

All you have to do is enter your starting point and destination and it does the rest with detailed instructions, sometimes too much instruction, and a small map that shows the route.
I used them when we went to Copperopolis from Phoenix. Took us right to Barb's brother's door!!!!:)

I know about the directions, and double checking them.
I check them about once a week to see if I have them down right.
I have been checking out Catoosa through online programs ever since I knew about the convention. I recently got YVSA'a address, and I am ready to go!!! :D :D :D

As some of you might be aware, I was scheduled to ride along with SamuraiDave to the Convention. I just read two of his emails -- one about not being able to go, and another about getting back on track! So as my attendance was contingent on his, I'd like to offer my humblest and warmest thanks for everyone's support.

Whoever the anonymous donor was, I would like to reimburse you when Dave & I arrive at Catoosa. Such generosity should not go uncompensated.

I would have tried to pay for SD's repairs myself, but the whole reason I'm riding with him in the first place is because I can't afford the necessary repairs to my own car...!

Thanks again to everybody. Texas will be at the convention! :D

Texas is going to be well represented.

Dave and ruel, here's a quote from an email I sent to your secret benefactor regarding his contribution to your trip to Catoosa and this followed by a few words of advice by old Uncle Bill.

"I know you don't want thanks but I'm going to do it anyway. Thanks a million. Jesus said if you cast your bread upon the water it would come back fourfold. My guru said this was true but Jesus had the return factor wrong that it was really 10 to 1. Since it is a matter of karma and the soul I think they were both wrong. It's infinity to 1."

Keep in mind this man has reaped great reward for his generosity. If you try to repay him you take away a reward much, much greater than $75. Accept his gift graciously and when you are in a position to do so help somebody else down the line. This works better for everybody concerned, including me.

As my guru told me, "you can't be a giver if you can't find a taker."

Wow, it's the most precious $75 I've ever seen.
Dave, may the "Zen rope" turns out a good trip on you!

I can't thank you all enough, but I will take your words into consideration and help out whoever I can.

Thank you again, all of you!!! :D :D :D
