Hi Guys,

I made this Bowie for a customer earlier in the year. The blade is hand forged from 5160, it's 10" long and about 1/4" thick, the hand guard is low carbon steel forged with hammer marks and gun blued. The bolster is copper with some file work around it's top edge and the handle is Thuya burr held in place with two brass pins. The leahter sheath is made from 1/8" Spanish shoulder which I dye and then hand stitch. I hope you like it.

Cheers Steve.

Love the blade shape! Did you hit that with a scotch-brite belt? Looks like a really nice uniform finish

Hi Wulf,

I used a 6" fine scotch brite polishing mop. I get them from a maker and good friend Mick Wardell here in the UK.

I like it a lot. Especially that blade. Nice job on the sheath as well.:thumbup::thumbup:

There is some cool stuff going on with this knife but what I am really digging on is the hammered guard it is a nice warm knife

You have a very discerning eye gregorio, the customer wanted a knife similar to a Bagwell Hells Bells Bowie and this was my take on it. Thank you for your very positve comments gentlemen it's very encouraging to hear this from more established makers.

All the best Steve.
