San Diego Comic con 2011

Sorry. My daughter usually goes, but not this year and probably not next. The 2012 ticket prices have gone through the roof ($150 for a 4-day pass). The geeks who made it, now can't afford it.

i went the last few years (by that i mean i was dragged to it) i find it boring but thats just me.

I'd say something about proper weapon usage against furries, but I'll refrain given the context of discussion.

I've never been but I worked in downtown San Diego during two of them, and know they were extremely expensive and crowded. If you go, drop me a note and I'll tell you some good places for eating out that aren't overpopulated by the aforementioned crowd. As for hotels to stay at, all I have to say is go East and keep going if necessary. I've always found the I-8 and 94 corridors to be useful in the La Mesa area (and even further east if you're desperate).

I remember when it was one room for the showroom at the El Cortez. Lot cheaper then.

I haven't been in a few years. Lots of big names attend these days. I like it for the art work. There are people with amazing skills there. And, by the way, my daughter is the voice for this comercial kick-off for the movie "Elysium" starring Matt Damon and Jodie Foster scheduled for release in 2013. Her commercial and the "campaign" opened at Comic Con this week. She does voice-overs for movies, dubbing for actresses, etc.
