San Diego knife attractions?

I'm going to be in San Diego from Sunday night until Saturday morning (3/12 - 3/18) and would like to know if there are any shops or manufacturers I should visit.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

The Buck Knives factory is in El Cajon, which is not too far from downtown San Diego (maybe 10 minutes by car). I believe they now give public tours by appointment on certain weekdays. I don't have their address on my at the moment, if you'd like I can find it for you.

There is a shop called the Cutler's Cupboard that has three locations, one in downtown San Diego at Horton Plaza shopping mall.

Forum member Dennis Wright has a very good knife shop, Wright Knife & Sporting Goods, in La Mesa (near El Cajon), open on weekdays...best to call to make sure he is there. (619) 465-6905. 8759 La Mesa Blvd. La Mesa, CA. 91941. Small shop, great selection, and Dennis really knows his knives.

GT Knives is also in San Diego. I don't know if they have shop tours. You might want to give them a call, they're in the phone book.
 
Thanks guys. I've already got an appointment with the guys at Strider Knives. I'll have to give Dennis a call as we've done some business before and may do some more next week

Buck has their tours on Wednesday afternoons. Their address is 1900 Weld Ave. El Cajon, CA 92020. Phone 1-800-735-2825. Customer service can fill you in on the tour schedule if you're interested.
