San Mai and Black Maple

I had sent off some Curly Maple to be dyed black and stabilized some time ago and thought it might look nice dressing up some 1095 and 416 San Mai!
Was that the right thing to do?

I like it alot.

I have been debating using nickle foil between the layers, did you or just straight 416 and 1095?

Beauties! These look like some blades I could spend a lot of time with. Great work.
 
Looks great Karl!! Does this one disassemble? Has a bit of sinister look to it, but I really like the way the darker died curly maple compliments the blade a lot!

great knife. I like the san mai blade. I have not had the best luck making them. the maple handle works great.......steve
