Here is a big bowie made from my first attempt at laminated steel: 15n20/1084/15n20. There was some near failure happening near the ricasso, but luckily it fits right in with the primitive nature of the piece. There are also bits of the of 15n20 left near the edge that give the appearance of islands along a coastline. The total length is 15 3/4". The guard and ferrule are forged from very slaggy wrought iron salvaged from a sunken steamboat in Lake Erie. The wood is 150,000 year old kauri salvaged from bogs in New Zealand. Thanks for looking!
