I finished this up about a week ago, but just now took the time for pictures, which aren''t very good. Anyway, OAL 13 3/4" w/ 8 5/8" blade. The blade is san mai with 52100 as the core and a 131 layer damasus loaded with lots of nickel as the outer covering. Handle is Hippo tooth ( thanks Mr. Rogers) with 262 layer damasuc used for guard and pommel. The guard and pommel nut are vine file worked. The sheath is hippo hide inlay.

Whats ya think.

Looking good! How was the tooth to work? I've got a bunch of smaller ones and one of the large ones but haven't tried any yet......

Beautiful knife and sheath Bill!
How did you fix the pommel onto the knife?
I'm guesseing you welded a threaded collar onto the back side of it and threaded it onto the tang?
The vine pattern file work is gorgeous!!!
I never have gotten that pattern right.
Guess I need to take some strips of wood and practice on em.

WOOOOOOW!!!!!

She is gorgeous Bill,Man your knives are making mine look sick,I got some definate catching up to get started on.

Thanks everyone.

Ray, I just ground on it like I do everything else, works fine.

Michael, You got it right. Tang is threaded, both the cap and the pommel nut are screwed on.

Bruce , Yea Right. ;)

Thanks again,

Bill

Very cool Bill. It all works and flows together. You made another beauty but hey, what else did we expect from you.

Another beauty!!!!! You definitely need to make more san mai blades.

Bill that's freakin Beautiful! The dark etch and white of the tooth really compliment each other, and the filework really sets everything off. Truly a fine knife, thanks for the inspiration,

Bill, You did it again, turned out another great one! That's beautiful work, and great choice of materials, too. This probably sounds kinda generic, but those folks already said it quite well. You GOOD, Bill!

Beutiful work Bill, There is nothing I don't like about it, that is one good looking package!
