Here is a flipper I just finished for a customer, it has some of my San Mai with a W2 core for the 3.5" blade, antiqued Damascus bolsters and ironwood burl scales.

Thanks for looking,
Alan

I swear the next thing on my list to get is some 203e! That stuff just turns out so nicely on sam mai blades. That's a very sweet lookin knife! great combo of materials, and of course I love the forged finish on the flats, somethin I never really see on folders cause everything is surface ground, machined etc. I really like it :) Are the bolsters coppered?

Absolutely gorgeous! Cool rustic blade which looks perfect with the beautiful ironwood and the antiqued bolsters. Great job!

It is a browning solution from a gunsmithing supply which is hot applied at 285 degrees. It is more of a brown color but has a slight copper look in bright sun.

Many thanks folks!

Ok, I have to chime in here - I hope it's not inappropriate but I wanted to gush a bit.

This is my knife, it just arrived today - actually very pleasantly surprised to find it waiting for me, didn't expect it to arrive for another day or two since I'm in AK.

I am no stranger to Alan's work, I think this makes my 8th or 9th knife of his that I've owned. Alan's craftsmanship never fails to amaze me and this one is no exception, in fact Alan has truly outdone himself with this one. This is my first true 100% custom that I commissioned from him. I don't think I could have envisioned it any better than his execution. The pics on here are good, but truly do not do this knife justice - it looks so much better in hand!

The F&F, materials, attention to detail are all perfect to me. Couldn't be happier, thanks Alan!

Oh yeah, this might be a bit silly, but looking at the pattern on the blade - the forged area at the top of the blade looks to me like storm clouds over a grey sea below - think I'll call this one "Stormy Seas"..
