Hello guys hope your all well im having a bit of dilemma well more of a cant make up my mind situation I was so close today in purchasing a Fallkniven modern Bowie but something keeps saying dont do it lol ive built up a bit of collection this year with knives but I feel something is missing even tho I have the new 52100 trail master and recon scout both excellent in my opinion not that im a expert what im feeling is I just can’t help but want a new cold steel Bowie obviously for my taste it’s got to be the trail master there just so bloody pleasing lol but im reading so many people have the same issue with the grinds being off not just a tiny bit either with the 3v version i just wanted to ask are they all that way and for aesthetic purposes is the San mai Taiwan versions fit and finish better ? Ive been stuck like this for 2 weeks thinking I need to purchase this knife ive watched countless videos on the 3v not many videos on the Taiwan san mai version tho has anyone got the new version and are yous happy with it would yous choose it over the Fallkniven modern Bowie jeez i can get 2 San mai trail masters for the price of just one mb over hear any help to make up my mind would be grand

Ps my demko Bowie arrived yesterday and it’s outstanding for the price my Wallace Bowie is arriving today and the Wallace smatchet will be hear Friday ive got a problem lol …. I got my cold steel great axe put together today i must admit I feel like rollo of vikings haha

Sorry guys if yous are sick of me I ask some absolute stupid stuff I know this …

im not a fallkniven fan, due to the really high costs. that's the only real reason though.

id take a Japanese made san mai trailmaster over a fallkniven myself. for the right price I'd take the Taiwan trailmaster san mai too. just not a full retail prices.

a Taiwan san mai or 3v trailmaster or recon scout to me is a user knife so for the right price point I don't care so much about the grinds being perfect, but im likely in the minority on this opinion.

Great to hear from you mate it looks like im going to go with the San mai trail master cant really go wrong and it’s a bit discounted at the minute hear not by much but enough to make me go a head with it as I’ll never be to get a Japan made trail master im ok with that now lol and I just want a nice shiny piece to go with these blackout versions i tell you one thing tho im really impressed with this cold steel black talon 2 serrated it’s absolutely insane what a knife and it’s Taiwan made along with this voyager vaquero serrated im super happy I got them they arrived about 6pm ive only just opened them

One hell of knife looks great side by side with its older design and when I think about things back in the day when they made the Kukri plus in San mai and 0-1 tool steel people were even complaining then i remember reading reviews saying ohh mine chipped this and that I don’t think things have changed much at all lol I believe it’s the way there being used I really do believe this now you can’t please everybody there’s good reviews and bad ones even now ive just ready a review on google stating the cpm 3v Kukri plus that someone received they said it wasn’t sharp haha I can’t believe that for one minute as I’ve seen videos of how sharp they are and it’s a incredible Kukri rather pricey but it’s now 2025 not 2010 lol

As I said in that thread someone linked, I just picked up a TM in 3V. Didn’t have the uneven grinds some people reported, but they have changed the blade profile slightly and made the s wedge much sharper coming to a finer point. Despite my initial concern, it’s grown on me.IMG_6283.jpeg

I’m a big fan of Fallkniven - but not a fan of their prices. . . 😁
