I know this has probably been asked countless times before, but what would the value be of an unused, factory edge natchez in San Maiii be worth today?

Never cut anything and always oiled and blemish free. Never put in sheath.

I was able to pick it up for 250 several years back and I’m curious about the value with the new san Maiii being produced in Taiwan and not seki.

Not that long ago NIB examples were going for $500+. With the announcement of the return of some san mai models, some people may wait to see if the Natchez also comes back in san mai, so values may drop a bit. But I don't think you'll ever lose money on yours...good score!

The Natchez is back, but not in San Mai III. On Amazon for about $225. Japanese Cold Steel San Mai III knives are getting scarce.

Japanese made Sanmai III models are alldiscontinued except for the Sanmai III Trail Master which remains in production. There are still some Sanmai III Laredo Bowies still in stock with dealers. But when they are gone, that's it.

For 250 that was a bargain. Maybe that was more than a few years back. I got mine a few years back (maybe around 2013) and the going rate then was about 380-400.

What is it worth right now? Unused, "new in box" mint condition, made in Japan: I just checked on the internet, not really finding an answer. So I can only offer my own personal opinion. If I didn't have one, and I wanted one badly enough, I guess I would pay $550 to $600. This is for the Seki Japan variant. It remains to be seen how this theoretical price would be affected by the new SMIII made in Taiwan.

Okay, found one that sold just recently in the last few days on arizona custom knives. It was listed at 699. Appears to have been without box and a few light scratches on blade.

most recent NIB one on ebay was $512 about 2 weeks ago

Knife Center, in stock, $399.95 with free shipping. Oh and there is one on EBay now BNIB free shipping for $406.97.

At this point, there are no new, made in Tawain, San Mai Natchez Bowies being produced. They disco'd production of the Seki City San Mai III several years ago.
