I had posted the question as to whether or not it was advisable to sandblast the carbon fiber on my 0452. Since nobody could answer I decided to try it. At first I tried bead blasting it with glass beads, 40/70 I think. That didn't do anything to it so I decided to try the sand on it. I set the pressure kind of low 60 or 40 psi, I don't remember for sure but I didn't want to be to aggressive. Crossed my fingers and hit it quickly. I was happy with the results, so I hit it for a little longer and then stopped worrying and covered it completely. I was very, very happy with the way it turned out.

It was much too slippery for my tastes and now the CF has a nice texture to it and looks much classier in my opinion. While I was at it I blasted the Ti side also and that has made the knife feel much better. I really liked the way the stone washed finished looked but I didn't care for the way it felt.

Overall I am very happy and carry it a lot!

Thanks, the picture really doesn't do the carbon fiber much justice, it looks much better in person.

My I ask under what conditions of use were you finding the cf too slippery for your tastes?

Just EDC. The original CF seemed to be coated with a finish that made the scale very smooth. Combine that with the stone washed finish on the titanium and it felt slippery in my hand. Now I don't mean slippery as in 'dipped in oil' but more like not instilling a confident and sure gripped feel.

I love the way it feels now and have since blasted ZT0450 and Spyderco Sage 2.
