i actually have a couple questions:
what would a blade look like, if you had it sandblasted? are there different finishes you can achieve by changing the size of the sand grains?
why would a blade be double coated? the black coating is chipping off my SP42 (pretty quickly), but instead of bare metal, there's another coating underneath it. i've never seen that before. it's unmistakeable, there's a coating on top of a coating.
i can't sand this knife down because it's a hidden tang inside a kraton handle. i've sanded the coating off knives before, but i have to be able to remove the handle scales to really do it right. what if i just taped up all the handle and had it sandblasted? how would it come out? i'd like to remove the coating and force a patina.
