Well,,,, this will sound PRETTY nuts BUT.
I just finished grinding a really nice Damascus blade for a folder. As usual, you have scratch marks from the previous grit. I hand sand on a flat surface for stability and as I worked thru 220 grit, I still had some marks left from grinding. It occurred to me to try my orbital wood sander with 220 to get the grind marks off. IT really worked and then hand sanded to 600.
I know this sounds weird but look me up on google.. I've got 2 piece on permanent display
