Does anyone utilize their mini-mill with sanding drums? Unlike a standard drill press wouldn't the mini-mill handle the side load better? Looking to get into some finger grooves! My method now is using a piece of round stock with sandpaper wrapped around it on a hand drill...

Current Method...

Thanks,
JK

I have some really small sanding drums for my Dremel. I like them quite alot with the only caveat being you go through a zillion of them. Have you considered trying them?

I avoid abrasives on my mill. Then again, Its not a cheap-o.
Anyway, provided you are handfeeding, Any decent drillpress will handle sideloading of small sandingdrums.

As a follow-up. This set up worked pretty good for me today. It's a low cost option. It didn't take much applied force to the drum, so I think the mill will handle it well.
