I have a damascus Kershaw Skyline coming, and I want to sand down the G-10 handle slabs for a better look and feel. The factory G-10 is just a bit too coarse for my liking. I don't have a respirator, but I've heard that you can sand the G-10 underwater in the sink with some wet / dry sandpaper if you increase the grit number. My questiona are:

1. Does it matter if the water is hot or cold?
2. Will adding a few drops of dishwashing liquid to the water help remove loose G-10 particles, or does it just keep them at the bottom of the sink?
3. When I'm all done, how do I dispose of the G-10 particles? Just wash them down the drain?
