I need some more help. I've decided to sand the rough texture off of my mini-AFCK. Just the part that rubs my pockets away. I started on it, and have it smooth, so hopefully it won't eat my pocket so quickly. How do I get the G-10 to a nice finish?? Is there a certain grit sandpaper I should use to make it look nice?? So it ends up looking like the Kershaw Random-Task. Thanks for the help.

I may be wrong but the G10 on the BMs and REKATS seems to be different than the G10 most of the makers are using. I finish my G10 with 400 wet then go to green scotchbrite, wet then gray scotchbrite, wet.
That's how I leave it, no buffing. The layers show through nice and it looks finished without being very shiny.
The Hawkbill pic on my website shows the finish I described on black G10. If you want to make it shinier than that just buff with a loose muslin wheel and white compound.

How do you get a flat finish on G10? I have some that I was going to use for folder scales. It came really shiny and smooth. I want it to be more grippy. If I hand rub it the same way I do the blade, but maybe not go to quite as fine grit, will that do it? Or do I have to bead blast it? I have access to a sand blaster, but its old and I don't know if it will work with glass beads.
Thanks.

Thanks for the information. I have green scotchbrite, and the right sandpaper, but no grey scotchbrite. I'll make do with what I have I guess. Your Hawkbill is a nice looking knife.
