sanding with ceramic

I'm part way through finishing a talonite cetan blade from Rob Simonich, and was wondering, has anyone ever used ceramic bench-stones(ie Spyde) to finish a blade? Would it do damage or is it an easy way to get the big scratches out?

I have had occasion to use diamond bench stones to remove cosmetic imperfections in hardened blades and can't say that I recommend it. The bench stones tended to plug up with cuttings quickly. Eventually I got the surface flat but it would have been easier to remake the knife from scratch.
