Anyone have a good brand(s) for 2500-7000 or so? My go-to is Rhynowet but they only go up to 2500, and I'd like to go for a true mirror finish.

After 2000 Rhynowet, I switch to 3M polishing papers. The pink is 4000 and the mint is 6000. I stop there and it looks like a mirror to me at that point.
Interesting. I just bought some, but the description said it was for soft metals and plastics. Good to know it works on steel too.

It works best for me over a wooden block with folded paper in between as a backing.

I've been using 5000g paper made by Starcke called Matador Wasserfest for a number of years now without any complaints.
However, I should say that I do exclusively pattern welded blades and so it's used primarily to polish off the oxides after etching, so I can't speak to how well is holds up doing a mirror finish on a full blade.

I' ve used Matador Wasserfest with good result, it's good quality.
But I've only used up to 1500
