Where can I get sandpaper locally? I can buy 220,320,400 packs from wal mart I need something lower grit like 80 and 120 in a wet/dry style paper. I don't want to order off the net because to make it worth my time I need to order alot and I don't have that kind of money sitting around at the moment.
 
any hardware or auto part store will have small pacs of assorted paper in most grits. you shouldn't need less than 80 or more than 2,000 grit
 
Lowes and Home Depot both sell the black stuff, wet or dry paper. Automotive stores will also have it, paint and body shops as well.

Are we talking about sharpening or finishing blades?

Finishing blades, I have not been able to find any in less than 220 grit at all the regular places. They have small squares for hand sanders but no full size sheets.
 
That's the only place I have not checked yet, I just assumed they would be about the same carrying 220 and up...
 
Any local automotive store that sells paint supplies can hook you up. They are somewhat pricey in small quantities.

I usually buy a "sleeve" of sandpaper (50 sheets) at a time. I also lean towards 3-M wet/dry papers in anything between 280 and 2000 grit, but then I am an old body-man, therefore, I am a believer in 3-M products.

I usually buy my bulk papers from www.autobodysupply.net .

Look under 3-M products then wet/dry sandpapers.

You can expect to pay around a buck a sheet in the local parts houses, but if you buy bulk, you can save anywhere between $.20 to $.35 cents per sheet.

I was just in autozone picking up some sand paper for myself, they don't have the lower grits in the black stuff, but they do have lower grits (60, 80, 120).
