I did a search on this forum and the Gen Discussion forum, but couldn't find anyone who had talked about suppliers for the finer grit papers used for finishing blades. I have heard of a Texas firm that supplies materials, but I can't remember the name. Any suggestions for mail order OR local? The only stuff I seem to find only goes up to 400.

Thanky!

Brandon,

Go to your local Auto-Body repair supply
house. They will have paper up to at least
1500.

I've found up to 2000 grit at automotive parts stores

Automotive shops are a great source if you don't need to buy much of it. Well, at least around here. But if you want any sort of quanity, some of the abrasive supply companies are less expensive.

SuperGrit
Industrial Abrasives
Econ Abrasives

Knifemaking supply houses carry it too. Like Sheffield's, Texas Knifemaker's Supply, Koval, K&G, and Tru-Grit.

For those truly insane, an outfit called Micro-Mark <http://www.micromark.com> has sanding film up to 10,000 grit, and lapidary suppliers have diamond impregnated grease the ranges from 1,500 - 100,000 grit.
