I have gotten hold of two pieces of this steel, and have thought of making something sharp and pointy.

But this sh*t is hard,(It is hard enough to scratch glass)
it is used for making cutting toolbits for lathes.

Now to the question: Have anyone tried to work with this material or anything similar, and how good is it for making blades?

All input needed/wanted.

Thank You

sounds like your steel is hardened already.. if it is toolbit stock it is....you have to grind it slowly and keep it cool or you will remove the temper....very slowly....most knifemakers buy annealed steel...grind it to shape...about 90-95 percent finished...and then have it hardened....good luck...
