I finally got a chance to try out my NOS 14" Sandvik double cut file. Cuts really well and fast!

I had just reshaped the bit of this Woodslasher at my pedestal grinder leaving an edge 1/8" thick. This file brought it to a half banana grind in 30 minutes with stops to check edge alignment.

Lovin' this thing!

Wow what a hungry bit of steel. you can hear just how well it cuts. Would have taken me 10 plus mins to get done what it did in 1.
I use a magicut which works well but this thing puts it to shame.

I knew there was a relationship between Bahco and Sandvik. I had actually searched the Bahco website for another file like this and came up empty. I'd buy a few more if I could find them.

Top-notch files make all the difference. The aggressive but near finish surface they leave make working on something like a hard steeled axe more a pleasure then drudgery.

Certain tools and pieces of kit are worth the money.
Nice video as well

Yeah. After cutting the basic profile with that big Sandvik I switched to a 12" fine cut Pferd to smooth it all up and remove the faceting. Then it was quick and easy work hone out the file marks and polish it up with stones.

Good tools and the right steps.
