Hello, i want to show you this folding knife. Its blade was forged in sanmai stucture, with 1095 center and two nickel thin strips between 1095 and laterals. It was oil quenched and tempered. The spring was also forged, hardened, and middle temperature tempered (400º C). The handle is made from one-piece buffalo horn.

Regards, Pablo.

That is lovely!!! Who made that?

Thanks, I made it.

Perhaps this is not the appropriate forum to present my customs? I´m a newbie in Bladeforums and i don´t know.

Ps: I have the tutorial (with a lot of photos) of the process, if you´re interested i can upload it (in this forum or in other???)

that's really a beautiful piece of artwork. When you working hard materials like the bone as you near a final fit about how much material do you leave and what do you use to remove the last .005 - .010 or so. Im thinking hand sanding? 400 - 600 grit semi finish??? Hard question to answer?? Im working with some ebony and it making me a little nutso.

Thats thing is simply elegant. Great work.

Thanks. I use machine sanding until 240 grit, and then hand sanding until the grit you want. In horn, i found very good finishing with fine sanding sponges, like Micro Mesh ones.

Ebony is much more softer than horn, but it will works too.

Pablo.

Elegant and Slender.....Flowing beautifully with graceful curves and an awesome sheen!!!!!

Absolutely Love It:thumbup:

Really a well done folder. I like the modern take on the antique design. The San-Mai is icing on the cake.
