So I got a nice surprise from work in the form of a $1000 AmEx card! The last few months we've been busting our hump getting through several large projects and traveling quite a bit, and it was a thank you from my boss and our CFO.
Naturally, I had to get some new Beckers! I've been dying to get my hands on a BK9 since I got to play with one at the NE Gathering, so it was the first in the cart, shortly followed by a BK5!
They are being escorted by another new goodie, a Mossberg 500 JIC II (Just-In-Case). This bad-boy takes down in a few seconds and goes into a discreet cordura soft-case.
Other goodies to go along was a brand new 4pc USGI MSS (Modular Sleep System) and a Warbonnet Blackbird hammock to replace the one that my friend "lost".
The BK9 is one of the new ones, with the laser etching and the new coating. I can't wait to try it out. Unfortunately I'm leaving over the weekend on another week-long work trip, so I doubt I'll get much time to play. I still don't have words to describe the BK5, it is just awesome incarnate. It came with the new MOLLE sheath which is awesome.
I'm actually a little surprised that the BK9 didn't come with a newer style sheath, I'm assuming it should have since it has the new coating? Oh well, I've got nothing to complain about
