Santa (okay it was the Postman) just showed up at my house. With my wife's Christmass presant to me. Yes, I shopped around for the best price, then I had to order it. When I left it up to her last year, I didn't get it until mid-January. She asked, "Should we open it?" How can such a smart girl, ask such a dumb question? "I have to, just to make sure it's okay!" I replied.
I know some of you aren't going to be impressed at all. I'm a very happy. This will be my last production knife for awhile. It's a Cold Steel Trail Master Stag Bowie. It's not my biggest piece, nor is it my best piece, but it is a big beautiful Stag handle Bowie. It's the biggest stag piece I have. It came very sharp, even the false edge, nicely done. I put a lite coat of oil on it.

Then my wife asks me, "Should I wrap it up so we can put it under the tree?" I said, "What am I, 5 years old?" What I didn't say is, if she thinks she's going get this knife away from me, she's going to need to put on about 60 lbs. and get a bigger knife for herself. No, right now it sits on a walnut display rack, right behind my keyboard.

I just finished reading about all of your prized possesions, I know this doesn't compare. I'm happy with what I have, and I know nicer pieces are coming, all in due time.

May Santa, make all of you very happy this year.

Phil

It's a dang fine knife Phil. I hope you enjoy it. You're a lucky man, I can't imagine my wife getting me a knife for x-mas. And I agree with you, keep it with you, there is almost a month before x-mas!

Hey Phil,
It sounds to me like your Knife-A-Holic symptoms, will be going into remission for awhile. That's great, no more hand tremors, slurred speech, cold night sweats, or drooling for you, for awhile. Bet they come back before Xmas though.
Enjoy your new Bowie, I think Stag makes a great handle material. It's geting harder for us custom makers to get, since India put a ban on Stag exports.

You should wrap it up and put it under the tree, but you shouldn't wrap presents and put them under the tree until Christmas Eve. Until then it can sit in the display rack and it'll come in handy any time something needs cutting.

Thanks for the knid words folks.
I'm very happy with it.
Now Greg, if I could figure out a way to get my wife to order me an Ed Fowler, I'd be King of all Knife-a-Holics, and a Legend in my own mind.

Congrats!
Santa also came early for me also but not a knife.
Picked up my NIB pre-ban Colt 9mm AR on WED.

Tatoo, Congrats! Right back at you. My wife actually would prefer I collect guns, go figure?
