I've always received an inordinate amount of kindness and generosity here on The Porch, and Santa came to Yorkshire early yesterday to deliver a very thoughtful package from Stuart D Duckdog :)

Along with a kind hand-written note, Stuart sent me some very interesting and tasty-looking edibles to try, and a couple of great knives :)

And a beautiful John Primble Cigar Jack (hope I've got that right!). What a gorgeous knife! :)

Sincere thanks for your thoughtful generosity Stuart, you're a great pal :)

Very gracious on @Duckdog’s part! I remember those Horehound candies as a kid. I had no idea they were still made.

Very nice present Jack! I’ve experienced both Stuart’s D Duckdog hospitality and his generosity! He’s a true friend and a very generous person. I actually talked with Stuart yesterday. He’s deer hunting and will probably be off the grid for a couple of days. I’m sure he’ll check in when he returns home! :)

Nicely done, Stuart.
Jack, you are well deserving.
Merry Christmas to both of you.

What a nice Christmas gift. Those are two beauties.

Thanks a lot folks :) Ron, I thought it was great you and Stuart were able to hang out together, I've very much enjoyed the PMs we've exchanged :) Hope he's having a great time in the woods

I am safely returned home from a wonderful walk through fields and forests, albeit without a deer to show for it. Well, the fresh air was nice. I am humbled by Jack's kind words and the chorus that followed. A year ago, Jack showed generosity to me with a package from across the Pond and I felt it was time to reply in-kind. The Primble English Jack seemed particularly appropriate, and the horehound candies were a reflection on the liquorice (licorice over here) candies he had bestowed upon me. Also, they are reported to have medicinal qualities for colds and coughs. (I'm not a doctor, but I have played one earlier in life.) I could not remember Jack showing us a small knife, so the Little Doagie seemed a good idea (and its tie to Jim Parker just added spice). Of course, everyone needs a few Virginia peanuts, even ones that are fancied up. I'm glad that everything got to you safely, Jack, and hope it brings you joy.

And to all y'all - Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
- Stuart

Thanks again Stuart, and I'll echo your good wishes to all our friends here :)
