As many of you know, I work in the Tech Control Center for a Florida based cargo airline. This is our busiest time of the year. We're flying packages that must be delivered by Christmas. I thought you might find some of the following figures interesting. They represent a typical week of the Christmas rush season for our 7 Boeing 727 freighters.
Not bad for what is considered a small operation by industry standards.

- There are 22 pilots, 11 Flight Engineers and 34 mechanics involved in the field portion of the operation.
- We'll make 182 landings and take-offs per week (or a landing & take-off every 54 minuets) in 17 American cities .
- We will burn 495,600 gallons of jet fuel per week.
- We'll haul 4,200,000 pounds or 2,100 tons of packages per week.
