Hi Guys

This Santoku style knife has an O-1 blade, 186mm long and 3mm thick on the ricasso. The blade has a full flat grind, the surface has been treated with a forced mustard patina which has produced a lovely mottled effect. Overall length is 302mm and is 45mm wide, the knife tips the scales at 202g and it's balance point is right on your forefinger at the front of the bolster.
The bolsters are made of aircraft grade aluminium held by two brass rivets. The handle scales are Masur birch with black fibre liners held by two Loveless bolts.
I didn't want to stamp my makers mark on this blade because it's so thin, so I contacted Ernie Grospitch of Blue Lightning Stencils. I etched my touch mark in with a stencil that he supplied. A great guy, great product and really easy to use.
I hope you like the knife. Thanks as always for taking the time to look.
All comments and critique very welcome.

All the best

Steve

Some things to like about that one. The patina is cool, and nice and even. I like the handle shape. I'm not a fan of the aluminum, nor the contrasting pins, although it does work with the loveless bolts (which I don't like either). You have some gaps between your bolster and blade, like the parts weren't flat enough when you put them together. Overall, a pretty good knife.

Good looking knife Steve. I like it, figured I would.
I'm with Jason on the loveless bolts, don't like the way they look.

I like it! I guess that's why everybody is different, I do like the contrast of the guard and pins. Nice design and keep the sparks flying!
