Here is one that I just finished. It is 1095 with a hamon and redwood burl handle. I posted one a month or so ago and Butch suggested taking the drop out of the handle so I took his advice on this one.
This is going to a friend of my brother's in St. Croix. I am going to visit my brother for a couple of weeks in May and his friend loves to cook and also loves to flyfish....he also has a boat. He knows I love to flyfish and really want to catch a dolphin (aka dorado, mahi mahi, not flipper) on the fly. My brother said he is ready to do his best to get me one so I thought I should make him a knife to say thanks. At the least, I know we will get into some tarpon so that is well worth a knife. He has used the santoku I made for my brother and his wife and loves it, so I think he should enjoy it.

Let me know what you think good or bad. Thanks for looking.

-Mike

1095 carbon?

I would love to have a carbon santoku. That is one good looking piece of cutlery.

Thanks for the comments, they are appreciated.

Yes, it is 1095 high carbon steel, and if you would love to have one, that is not impossible.......

Thanks Butch. The idea of a backlog scares me though. I just do this for fun so an order here and there are one thing, but a wait list would stress me out.
