don't know squat about either, but looks like would be nice knife to carry everyday. can anybody compare the two for me? side byside pics would be nice.

Almost the exact same length but more handle space on the SAR 3.
Large hands work better with the SAR 3.
Smaller hands work great with the GW.

Game Wardens come in all different thickness measurements and a coating option while the SAR 3 is .17" with satin or DCBB finish only.

SAR 3 for me, the handle works a lot better for me & I like the thinner blade width.

thanks. cost about the same?

That depends on your luck on the exchange or other second hand sources. I have seen a couple of GW's go recently for around $200 but they go pretty quick while most are around $300 that were thicker & satin. The SAR 3's are staying steadily above $230 as in closer to $250-$280.

I would advise to pick the one you like the look of best and it will suit you very well in the small knife department.

A little better response than my earlier one for you.

The SAR 3 has the rounded off nuclear meltdown treatment all the way around, thumb jimping and a flat butt. It's also plenty stout with it's convex grind even though it is just .17. The Game Warden has a full flat grind (unless you get A SLUT version in the upcoming Ganzaa) and can range from great slicing .14 to a .28 super stout railroad spike that would probably survive anything.

I have large hands and have both but only use my SAR 3. My GW's just sit, but some people really, really love them. This is reminding me of a forgotten to do list. :foot:

I like the game warden between the two. I do not care for the ridges on the sar3 scales. I was not brave enough to sand them down but I think that does the trick for most people. The extra length of the handle is nice, but I prefer the rounded end of the game warden anyways. The game warden is classic Busse and is a must own knife. They buy and sell great anyways so you have nothing to loose.
