SAR-3 sheath?

I just bought my first Busse tonight! Very stoked, after at least a year of wanting one, especially something of the SAR variety, I got lucky and scored one of the awesome new little orange and black SAR-3's.

Are the Busse Company Store sheaths good value? Does anyone have any pics of a sheath they got with their SAR-3? I'm thinking of calling up tomorrow to see if one can be added to my order. The next question is kydex or leather...any thoughts? Are these leather sheaths likely to have any means of retention?

Cheers guys! :thumbup::thumbup:

I bought an orange/black SAR3 last night, and I bought a black Armorall pouch with it, sight unseen. I'm confident that I'll like it though.

Kydex vs leather is just personal preference. I grew up with leather, and I like the way it looks, feels, and smells. Leather is less likely to scratch your blade from inserting...unless it's dirty inside. That's the downside of leather...grit and dirt can get trapped inside the sheath. Also, leather can hold moisture against the blade which can make it more prone to rusting. Both can be very versatile, but I think Kydex probably gives you a few more options for mounting to molle equipped gear.

Either way, I think that either sheath from the company store would do the job just fine.

Thanks for the thoughts guys. One thing I want is positive retention of some form, so maybe I'll get a kydex sheath now and look into getting a custom leather sheath later. A low-profile pocket-style sheath would be cool.
