SAR 5 Question

I recently picked up a SAR 5 from the exchange, I have wanted one for quite awhile and have read all I could find about it. Many people either love it or hate it, even the Boss Man himself doesn't much care for it and it's claw hammer handle
I like the looks of it and hoped it fit my hand, so I took a gamble and bought one. I was pleasantly surprised it fit my hand very well. I guess I'm one of those that love the SAR 5.
Any ways the question has to do with the (Claw hammer handle) if it is so disliked why has very similar designs showed up on the much loved Hog Muk and Drop Point Hunter?
Please enlighten this piglet!

I really like the SAR 5, its a lot of knife in a compact package. It felt fine to me but I went on to mod the handle for improved grip. I did the same with the MUK.
I used and liked it so much I sent it in for new slabs and coating.

Thanks, it feels incredible. I kinda got my inspiration from the RMD.
They are the same thickness but not as round. I asked the shop not to remove any excess material so I would have the option.

The thing about the SAR 5 handle, for me, is that the swell is too far back. If the swell was farther forward (or eliminated entirely), I would like it a lot more.
