SAR-6 LE or LE BOSS JACK ???

Which would you choose and why? If you have both; which do you prefer and why?

Please state config as well, or prefered config... The winner will most likely be my first "new-from-the-shop" Busse!

Thanks!

I've never really liked the SAR line, to each his own. I love the Boss Jack though. The photos I've seen of the LE's are pretty sweet. I really like that they used a saber grind instead of a full height on the LE's.....

:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: ...love that as well!

the sar 6 and boss jack le are not really a good comparison.they are quite different.the sar 6 is much thicker and more heavy duty imo.maybe the sar 6 and the combat grade boss jack would be a better comparison.i have both the sar 6 and boss jack le and love both:D

If you're talking about the knife from the pic in his sig, that looks like an SFNO LE to me. Just saying....;)

...Good call! I may still be a bit fuzzy from the Thursday-night-beating that I took--first Ganzaaa...
:D

I like my SAR 6 for all around woods use, my BJ LE is an awesome knife but not as well suited for all around camp and woods duty.

Mate on that note can you tell me the model details of the knife in your avatar??

Ive seen it in magazines but never for sale anywhere....

Cheers

You mean the crossed knives? Those look like the Steel Heart 1, or the Anniversary Steele Heart 1, ASH 1.

I have both;
SAR6 SE/pumpkin
BJ CG black/Pumpkin

If I had to decide between the two, I'd stick with the SAR6. They're really two different blades though. That's why I have both. I dont think the BJ has the all-rounder qualities that the SAR6 has.

I dont think my CG BJ is any closer to my SAR6 SE. Even with the .23 BJ blade, its considerably less beefy than a SAR6

From the OP's choice my vote goes to the SAR 6 LE.

Same here.

I agree. Its a heavier, but smaller knife that can chop well due to its enlarged pommel, not overwhelming in size around the kitchen (or campfire) and can still slice rather well.

If I was heading into any situation where only one of the two could come with me, it would be the SAR6

So where does the BJ LE (or CG) get the points? In the kitchen or in a fight, based on the fact that its light and thin (relatively)?

When would you use it over the SAR6?

Thanks!

With the saber grind - I just think the BJ LE looks SEXY!!:thumbup:

I think its fine around camp where more specialty tools are available or anywhere where the luxery of multiple tools is present. I'd use the BJ over the sar in this case because it is lighter and wont fatigue your hand with finer motor use. I'd bring it hunting even though I'd typically prefer a shorter more bellied knife. In a scenario where you have to depend on ONE knife or the luxery of multiples isn't possible, I think the SAR6 covers more range of use. I tend to keep my firearms and knife collections (users) free of redundancy. If one of the two HAD to go, it would be the BJ. Right now I own a nmfbele, a sar3, a SR Vex, a sar6 and a RMD. Prior to.adding the BJ to my collection I had very little overlap in size and use within my collection.

For social work due to it being comparatively small, thin and light. Mostly when I am going to horizontal or inside the belt carry a 6" blade concealed with the least amount of attention possible so I don't baa-aa-ther the sheeple it might offend ;)

i sold my entire collection to knifehunter and now just have my one doublecut with black micarta sar-6, works for me!
