ok, I have a Basic 6 and 2 boss jacks and really like the 6 inch size knives lately so now I cant get the sar 6 out of my head. am I missing something or is the BJ and Basic 6 plenty or do I need the sar 6??:foot: or should I say what does the sar offer that the other 2 dont?

The SAR has jimping and a weird, curved handle that some find really comfortable.

It also lets you search for and rescue things more efficiently :foot:

I'm pretty sure most people here will tell you to just get it and try it out then sell it if you don't like it

yeah I know most will say that but........ so any one have pics of all 3 side by side then?

Sorry, no pics of all 3 here. It's because I sold my two BOSS Jacks and kept the SAR 6. But this should tell you something :)
The SAR-6 is beefier than the Basic 6 and BOSS Jack which brings some additional weight. However, in combination with the long handle it also makes it the best chopper out of those three when you grab it on the far end of its butt. I also think it's the sexiest design out of those three - but this is very subjective, of cause. I'd strongly recommend to get it

I sold my SAR-6 and kept my boss jack LE. The BJ is more compact and I feel like the handle is dang near perfect. My SAR-6 LE was a beautiful knife and I miss it often. When my finances get turned back around I'm gonna hunt down another SAR. Although it's only slightly larger than the jack it is a much more substantial knife.

Sell one of your BJ's and fund a SAR6. If you hate it, sell it. I also would suggest any of the SE G10/satin versions rather then the DC/BCM. Just my .02 All of the blades you mentioned can do it all though. Period. There is just something about the SAR6 though-the handle ergos, the grind is perfect and the blade really lends itself as being good at so many things. Its such a slicer and a lot more blade then the BJ belly wise-close to the B6 and I love that too, but the SAR6 would be still be my top choice if I were meandering in the woods for a day with just one knife. With that being said, if I were going into combat-id probably pick the BJ LE for some obvious reasons.

Ditto above I sold Sar 6 Le and kept the Boss Jack Le. Much more of a slicer with the saber grind. Nice knife but the ergo's didnt work for me.

SAR 6 is much beefier than the BJ, really no comparison other than similar cutting lengths. SAR 6 (and probably Basic 6 too) is an all rounder, while the BJ is more limited in it's effective uses and best suited as a companion to a larger blade in the field.
