Wendy-2007 has a few fake Shirogorov folders listed for sale / auction. I am pretty positive they are fake then checked where they would ship from. Huh, China. Anyway, this person has quite a few high dollar knives including a Busse SAR 8.

I don't own this knife nor have I used or held one. What are the features to look for to varify authenticity or faux fabrication? The jumping looks off to me and it seems to have a full convex/flat grind. The ones I have seen from pics here and KnifeHunter's aight seem to have a more pronounced saber grind. Are these observations legitimate and what else should a potential buyer be looking for?

If it's that Blue/Black G10, it looks authentic. This is, of course, judged on the limited photographic evidence. Other Bussemeister's opinions, please...;-)

I say if there's any question stay the heck away. The price is outrageous, no returns and its from china. Just the no returns thing tells me stay the hell away.

What Timmy said.
Even if it's real, that seller clearly sells fakes,,, I wouldn't give her a dime.

it's real....the seller is a big retail pawn shop. they are selling the lots of legit stuff but I also saw some fakes too. I personally wouldn't mess with them, but if you bought it you always have paypals protection

Thanks for the input. Is expensive, and I'm leery about going outside the USA for most anything. You wait long enough, what you want will show up "locally."...;-)

Patients piglet... Patients.

That combo will pop up around here eventually.
Enjoy the hunt... It's half the fun!! :D

.

I'd be happy to test it for whoever buys it, but it might look like this one when I'm through.

Just because they have good feedback means nothing. Saw someone of Facebook a couple weeks ago looking to buy Ebay accounts 6 months old or more with 100% positive feedback. They actually found a couple people to sell them their account.

BTW I saw the listing,if it is a fake it is a VERY good one. The only thing I think looks a little off is the color of the blue, little to bright. That may be the lighting.

Wow. Didn't know you could sell an eBay account. But thinking about it more, I guess so.

And a photo of some beautiful blades, Tim. How does the SAR8 compare to the DSF? Have four of the latter, and curious about the SAR. Looks like it would be blade heavier than the D. Thanks...;-)

that site always sides with the buyer.there is almost a zero percent risk of buying off that auction site. I have 500 transactions mostly purchases ,never had a problem once. Anyone who says there is much risk obviously doesnt understand how their buyer protection works. Its kind of like a busse warranty...NO QUESTIONS ASKED..In fact its so good that you are taking a far greater risk selling something than buying it on there.Including when it says no returns...that means no returns if its as described. and even then usually theyll make the seller take it back..as soon as you dispute a purchased item the sellers paypal account is deducted the amount and its put in escrow till resolved and again the resolution unless blatantly othersided...goes to the buyer. Also as far as people selling ebay accounts its one in a million ,and it still doesnt matter...the buyer protection is bullet proof .

Not sure about the Busse but as far as the few Shiro I see when searching under that user name-- they look legit if its what's shown in the pics. The bxes are right, the pivot stickers are there and all the screws and usual telltale signs are definitely original But for that kind of price listed, yea good luck selling it off.

I certainly could be wrong about the Shirogorov knives. Looking at the pics I see several details that concern me. 1) the Carbon fiber on the 95s looks to be of muchower quality with a different cut, it also seems too proud of the sides. 2) the pocket clip looks wrong, too fat in the middle and not pointed enough at the end. 3) screws are also too proud. The screw holding the clip to the scale is very tall off of the clip. The points of that screw would likely cause issues with snagging or cutting. The screw to adjust lockup is also too deeply set. I guess if it is used and previously adjusted I could expect it to be that deep. Again, I certainly could be wrong as I don't own that knife and have only made observations. It is certainly possible that IF it, they, are fakes the people at the pawn store may not know.

From what I've seen, and simply based on location and ability/hassle of return I would go nowhere near buying these knives. I was more requesting info on what to look for on this particular knife to make sure its not a 'homage'.

For me its not about the risk of losing money,, its the principle of supporting businesses that profit by stealing others hard work.
