Got my SAR-8 #370.

Width measured at .210" compared to .247" for coated NMSFNO. SAR-8 feels more like a "knife" and is definitely more comfortable than NMSFNO.

P.S. I read some guys got other goodies in their SAR-8 packages. I did not. Not sure what those goodies are good for anyway :)

Congrats on the SAR8-LE!!

...As for the "goodies", sometimes 'Skunk throws whatever is lying around into some of the shipping boxes. Sometimes it's useful, more often it's not!! Always fun however, and so far over the years I've received a Glock handgun...keychain (LOL, it might be a .09mm!), marbles, lanyards, CAT HAIR , a DOG biscuit, a piece of an inner tube, beer caps, drink coasters...used, a HOGtag, and small rubber superball among other "junk". :D

He's a funny guy!

I could use an INFI drink coaster as long as it is satin finished and unsharpened... :)

yep it is fun, #49 that I got had lanyard and a dogtag. Put a smile my face. Well, it may have been the knife too :)

I guess Dmytro is highman with #370. I'm guessing that there were less pumpkin SAR8 then the LE's, it sold out way faster. Either that or cause it cost less...

Here is more mystery: LEs were on the order page for at least 24 hours after I had placed my order. Why am I the "highman"?

you have SAR-8 #370, so far you are the first one to go over the #300, although I have two over 300, your number is way higher then mine. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=674457
since nobody at Busse will say how many is produced, we try to figure it out for ourself.
I think the only ones we know the numbers to are some of the early ones and the SFNO LE of which is marked 300.

Might be a dumb question but... Are they definitely numbered consecutively? Or rather, sold consecutively?

Yes, I knew that easily cause of the numbers that were produced and the number of people that go on this site, unless they each got like 40 each. But what makes me think is how did they find out about it if they didn't find out on this board? Is there a email list where you send out specials if you don't come on this board? Cause I want to be on it, just in case I miss a day or two on here, or even text me if it is very important:) Otherwise one would wonder where did all the other numbers go... I am a bit curious about the numbers on the pumpkin though and if they are coming out in black/tan and black paper though...

Liu Kang has a point. Those things disappear so quickly that very few people would actually get one unless they are notified. It just does not add up to account for sequential numbers...

reguardless of the number, your le model will still be worth at least $597!:D what other commodities can say that! certainly not my 401k!!!

I think ammo has been a better investment in the last 18 months, at least up here in Canada. I bought some Soviet cal Federal hunting rounds last year and last week returned them back to the same store ... for a 20% profit. I don't think Jerry will buy back my LE next year for 597*1.2=$716 :)

Also a Busse knife is the exact opposite of "commodity". If it were a commodity you would not care if it were a Busse or not, you would just buy the cheapest item.

Amy, people just want to know, so they can determine how rare the knife is, if few are made, then its rare and value would be worth more.

I am sure you all keep track of how many you sell of each model; variations there of, maybe when you guys actually finish a series you could post the percentages of the varients instead of the actual numbers. And yes I know why you don't post the numbers... The IRS is ALWAYS sneeking around out there:grumpy: Nobodys safe!!
