SAR3 Problems -- Solved

I recently picked up a Tan/Black SAR3 from the company store. When it arrived, it was dull. I put a post up here asking for sharpening advice (which I'm sure would work) but I still don't like the idea of receiving a brand spankin' new -- and rather expensive -- knife that needs work. Besides being dull, the grind was not symmetrical (something I mentioned when I returned the knife) and the scales looked great but were really sharp (something I didn't mention).

I sent the knife back. A few days later, I got an email back saying they made me a whole new knife and it was on its way back. The new knife is sharp. The new handle feels good, and the nice folk at Busse even provided me with a store credit that more than made up for the few bucks I spent in shipping.

It is great to see a company stand behind its product like this. Thanks all.

Congrats! They are the best I've encountered and have always treated me well (except for making me wait for an INFImuk.:D).

Glad to see you got taken care of, I'm not at all surprised they took care of your issues. Busse has simply great customer service.

The great customer service is just something that comes along with a Busse product... Great folks.

Told you they would take care of you!

Great customer service is a real thing with Busse (and Scrapyard and Swamprat).

Can't go wrong with any of them!

What's with the Dull blades as of late?

I've got a Boss Jack from the ganzaaa that will barely (if at all) cut paper..I am not overexerting either...

Out of 3 SAR3s that I bought from the company store, only 1 is sharp (somewhat) ...

Also, the $611- BWMLE that I just received is really, really dull....
(All unused,factory fresh)

I wasn't going to make a big deal out of it,but the dull BWMLE really
kind of aggravated me...So,I'm going to send them all back...

It's good to hear that you got taken care of...I'm sure they will take good
care of me as well.. but it is sort of a pain in the butt to have to send them back...

Oh well....life goes on... :D

I recently purchased and returned two SAR-3 LEs for exactly the same quality control problems that you describe here. Having less tolerance of poor quality control than you, I cancelled my open order for the Boss Street and obtained a refund for the two SAR-3 LEs.

I wasn't gonna say anything but hopefully it'll be helpful to comment.

it seems a few Sar 3 i held were petty dull from the factory. had some issue with the slabs on one as well. I was told to send it back and I'm sure I will be taken care of. no worries here...

i wish all knives could come as sharp as my JackHammer did. So far it had the best edge ive ever owned. hope they can work the kinks out.

Heavy Mil. orders have put some new guys on the sharpening line. . . Some serious "Not-so-great-edges" have gone out the door when they shouldn't have.

We are dropping the hammer on this issue and should have it worked out.

Thanks for your patience and thanks for giving us the opportunity to make it right!

We'll start drinking earlier in the day. That should get rid of those darned DTs. . . It's hard to sharpen when you're trembling like an 8 inch thick jello shot!

Thanks!

Jerry :D

Hey Jerry, how does one score a gig sharpening for the Busse crew??? You know, you could give me a call if you need extra manpower. All I ask for in return is a big ol' hunk of store credit :D.

Not gonna work man, sorry. :(

The commute from Bojangles to Wauseon, OH is crazy!!!! You'd have to go through Geewhillikers, IN. . . Hell, MI . . . Hopscotch, IL. . . and then Hicksville, OH before you got here! I think we both know that there are way to many drinking holes in those towns . . . Plus you would need a DD who was willing to drive you!!!!

But, we'll keep it in mind!

Let's Drink!

New guys are... Well... New.... I'm sure that if they aren't very experienced now, they will be soon enough...lol

There is no doubt in my mind that you guys will make it right... It's just that Sat. night I drank through my Sunday reserves, and I too seem to have been going through some sort of DT's (can't purchase wiskey in NC on Sun...:thumbdn:). That must explain why I was on here crying like a little schoolgirl about some dull blades, instead of first E-mailing you good folks about it..

Maybe you should put those new guys on some sort of Mainline Alcohol DRIP System while they work.... Then, without a doubt they'd be producing the sharpest blades around...... What OSHA doesn't know won't hurt em'...:D

I don't know of another company that communicates with their costumers as well as you guys/gals do.... It is very much appreciated at my end!!

Thanks!!

Thank You:D

Just call us or e-mail us:)

That is what we do:thumbup:

Jerry, you must have started drinking too early. We all know that Hicksville is on Long Island :-)

What if we were to come in a group......a Designated Driver rotation for each day. Some of us have dealt with places like No Where, Oklahoma so there can't be much difference between all the small towns.

Now that's thinkin' like a true HOG!!!!!. . .

DD rotation is a great idea, unless you put a booze hound like me in the mix, 'cause I never sober up long enough to be the DD!!!!:D

Hey Jerry, that is why there is a bed on a truck. We can do it Clampit style with a rocking chair, a bench seat out of a van, or even a matress. It is all good because no one would want to mess with us!
