The pics that Lunde has posted of the SAR4 looks like the slabs are linen micarta.

So Jerry or Skunk,
What material are the slabs on the new SAR4 made from??

Since I have no idea what I am talking about around here I must ask questions now instead of give any answers.:o:)

The SAR4 LE handles sure look and feel like Linen Micarta to me.

I had forgotten the ASH1LE's were linen as well. Very dull colors on that one. Hoping this isn't just camera foolery and the scales look that good in person.

Camera foolery? Bah! I jump through hoops to ensure that I capture the color and essense of the knives, and when it comes to the handles, it becomes rather paramount to do so. It's a WYSIWYG situation.

When my SAR4 LE arrived, my jaw hit the floor, as a result of admiring the handles.

Dont forget the HOG ASH, first ones to get it. :)

WYSIWYG - What you see is what you get. Racked my brain on that one for a bit.:o Got to stop reading Kens posts when I'm hung over.:D

WOW... haven't heard WYSIWYG in a LOOOONG time. :D

And IIRC... all the ASHLEs had linen micarta...
just some variations in color for diferent batches.

I'm so old, computer-wise that I remember being confused between WYSIWYG and GUI. And staying up until 4am trying to configure a graphics card and LAN card by swapping DIP switches for hours on end. And that doesn't count the IBM Dual-drive PC (not even the XT) to do word processing in college. :)

wizzywig is timeless. The fundamental things apply, as time goes by. (Apologies to Sam at Rick's Cafe)
