Hey there! New to this forum, joined because I was curious to get myself a Kukri. Been rather obsessed with my research in them recently, and Im going to get a couple cheaper ones, just to kind of see how I like them, and if I do, what style is more suited. Then if I dig em, invest in a nicer(perhaps custom) one.
I heard about these ones:
http://www.sarcoinc.com/bayo-kukris.html
Quite a few people recommend the Military and Deluxe Kukris. I was going to get one of those, and possibly one of the longer ones, like the 18 or maybe even 24. All the literature I see for the sarcoinc is that they are quite durable for the price, but the ergonomics and such aren't up to par with the nicer Nepalese ones.
Are the 18 and 24 inchers from Sarco any good? I couldn't find anything about them on the internet, despite searching through piles upon piles of google results and forum threads. From the(tiny) picture, they look to be handmade, full tang and convex with a sirupana profile and terrible handle. If I can't find anybody who can tell me if they are a wallhanger or otherwise, maybe I'll go ahead and be the test dummy for it.
I also looked for some info on combat training, as I may want to use it for defensive purposes as well. Im rather happy with a 12 gauge pump, but it may run out of ammo or fail. From what I hear, the Gurkhas grow up using them for all sorts of daily chores, and that is how they get good. If there is any stuff I can do beyond just that, I'd be interested to practice it.
Anyways, without further ado, I shall press the submit button. :jerkit:
