This is my first and last attempt at designing a knife. Not only do I lack the skill, I have no idea how the folks who post in this forum can turn out such works of art!

I designed SARGE, *American Practical Hunter, as a thank you for Bill M. of another forum. I took forever to do it, and got VERY lucky with the result.

here's a link to the pictures a friend posted. I'm embarrassed to have them in the same forum as artists.

Be gentle, please.

Don't let this be your last time! I'd imagine that the way all the great knifemakers got to be great was through practice. Myself, I kind of like it, and with practice you can only become better. :)

Nothing wrong with that. My guess is the next time you try it you will really surprise yourself.

1 critique. Why didn't you spend the time to hide the 1/8th of an inch of tang that is visible?

To get those fine scratches out I would get some auto paint rubbing compound. It will bring all the blade up to the finish of that near the edge.

You've got nothing be ashamed of. I'd be proud to make something that looked that good for my first knife.

Hi!
I like your work very much! It looks nice, clean designed, tuff knife.
It will support you everywhere.
You need only sharper edge. (I think)
GO AHEAD!!! :)
