Saw your post on the Strider Forum and thought both you and some of the Suspects might enjoy this little ditty ...

On patrol a few months back, I got a call to assist another unit and a couple of EMT's who were having trouble with an attempt suicide. As I arrived on scene, things were moving at a fast pace. Picture if you can my collegue and one of the paramedics holding up this guy who had strung himself up with that heavy duty plastic encased steel cloths line. This guy was serious about checking out because he had quadrupled the line around his neck and the rafters with ever tightening slip knots.

Now this guy must've weighed in at 275+ lbs. and the two boys were having a hard time holding this guy up while the other EMT was trying to saw through the steel with a "lesser" blade. Well out waves the SARK with a resounding 'thawk'! I basically took one roundhouse swing and cut through all the steel guage. The wires sheared one at a time and sounded like several piano wires snapping! Needless to say, everyone came tumbling to the ground in a mess of bodies, it was almost comical! I jammed the blade into the wire around his neck, it was rather difficult because his skin had practically enveloped the wire. Using the back of his neck as leverage, the blade went through with little problem.

Anyway, a happy ending. The guy pulls through and ends up in the psyc. ward for a few months. As for the SARK, a few passes over the Spyderco ceramics got rid of the nicks and it was hair popping sharp again in no time! I ended up selling it to one of the EMT's and the other two guys now carry emersons on duty. As for me, I've got another P-SARK on order!

:)

Raye,
First off, wecome to the forums.
Secondly, That was a GREAT, GREAT account, Thank you for sharing it with us. I'm looking forward to getting my first Sark - even more after reading this.

Hey stratocaster!

Very neat story and with a good ending, thanx a lot for sharing :)

Haven't seen you here very much so i'm hoping that you'll be here more often :)
We're a good bunch but somtimes one needs thick skin to stay ;)
Not really, but we do jerk each other around alot, i seem to have gone rather unscatched..., does that mean that people dislike me???

Lot's a good humour and friendly companionship to be found!

Raye,

You shold email your account to Emerson Knives. They would probably use it on their site. A great account!

A SARK and another LaGriffe are my next purchases.

Even the bad guys know Emerson

A few years back I e-mailed Derek about an interesting incident. I'm from Northern Ontario about 3 hrs. North of Toronto. God's country, great fishing 15 minutes in any direction. So we have a lot of the outdoor types, lots of long guns not too many handguns. Needless to say we have a lot of knife buffs, (even the bad guys).

I was walking back from our main station to an underground parking where I park the car when I'm at work. In Canada, there's no off duty carry so I (at the time) had a CQC-7B as my EDC. Anyway, it was 2 am
noone around (you know the scenario). Two mooks follow me into the car park from the street. To make a short story shorter, one of them produces a crow bar but doesn't say a thing. The smart thing would have been to run my a$$ out of there, but I stood my ground and zipped out the 7 and stared back. The lighting in the car park is excellent so they had a good view of me. I was hoping at this point someone else from work would show up when one of these goofs says," its an Emerson!", they both turned and walked away at a brisk pace. Needless to say I was extremely relieved and got the hell out of there. Now there are cameras in the car park and I carry a Commander!
