Yep, you read it right. The Sarki Shop is closing. We have kept it open for quite a while just because we felt like we had and obligation to all our friends on the forum & it was something Terry and I enjoyed togather. We will still be posting on the forum and keep in touch with everyone. We will complete all orders that we have but will not take any more. (All of our contact info. will remain the same). It is too hard on Terry to have a regular job and a home business too. It doesn't leave much time for family and the important things in life. We really appreciate you all and it has been great doing business with all of you. Along the way we have made many life long friends.

Thanks Again & God Bless,
Sandi & Terry

Sandi,

Sorry to hear about the closing, but you got to do what you got to do... Time with the family is probably the most important thing going, so I'm glad that'll be the outcome.

Best wishes!

Alan

This is very sad news!!!!!:( But understandable.

I was hoping to have a few sheaths made for a few favorites. Maybe later down the road.

What will happen to your website?

Family should always come first and you can never have to much free time with them. You guys take care and we will see you on the forum!:)

The best of luck to the both of y'all. Y'all will be missed!!!!
I know what it's like to not have anytime for one's self because of working to much. What started out as fun becomes work too quick.
I'm still burned out on doing leatherwork.:(

Now maybe T-Bone and me can get back out to the shooting range one of these days..:D

Sandi,

Sorry to hear. I can understand it being tough running a home business and a normal job. I hope one day you guys can do this full time.

Will

This is very sad news but understandable. I'm fortunate to have several examples of your considerable talent. Thanks for being there.:)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Now I will have to try to rehandle this old khuk myself :(

This is what I get for procrastinating.

I hope things will work out OK for you, Sandi and Terry. You are good people.

Well Chris you never know there may be a time when Terry will want to open the Sarki Shop again. Only time will tell. We will probably make a few copies of the web site for the history book but then we will probably delete it. We have had alot of visitors on that site and if people see it they will think we are still in business.

:(

I guess if I cant find the handle for my BAS I am on my own. And my plans for my quick draw scabbards are out...well, time to learn some new tricks.

This single incident can lead to only one thing...a mutation in the society of Woodchucks... "kukhri evolution" if you will...so this is how these things happen. Sad, yet understandable...and interesting. We will definately see more things pop up in the forum regardign leatherwork.

Hope yall have more time for yourselves, and I sure do understand. Finals are a beginning, not an end, around here. I figure the situation is similar there.

TERRY HAS PROVEN HIMSELF THE EQUIVALENT OF THE ROYAL SARKI, JUST AS BURA IS THE ROYAL KAMI, AND HE SHOULD BE SO HONORED.

If not for Bill sending one of Terry's scabbards to Nepal and it's quality scaring the holy terror out of the sarkis, leading them to reinvent themselves, we would still be putting up with the slipshod scabbards that used to come from a bunch of half hung over, halfway into their next drunk sarkis. They saw their jobs flying across 12,000 miles to the US. It apparently has been and remains a sobering experience, and one that Uncle Bill did absolutely NOTHING to disabuse them of. I want to meet you when I make it back there next week, T-bone!

Sandy

... it always remind me of you all (ie. Terry, Sandy, Chrissy & Terry Jr) every time I fondle my 17.5" Assamese (ie. formerly Hanuman), 9" Dhankuta and 12" Dhankuta which were rehandled at Sarki Shop!

... it is a sad thing that Sarki Shop is shutting down!

Sandi & Terry,
Y'all have been wonderful to work with and made lots of khukuri knuts (including me) very happy. Thank you for everything you have done, enjoy your family, and don't be strangers to the forum.

It is our loss, but family comes first. I hope you find the extra time invaluable for furthering your relationships and happiness.

When I first read the title of this thread my first thought was that one of you was ill. I'm very glad that you are both okay, and the reason you are shutting down is for your family.:)

I too procrastinated having scabbards made for a few khuks, but that's life. I'm really glad I've got the one great one for my 18"AK that Terry made awhile back. Take care and hope to see you on the forum more often now.:)

And hey guys don't be too sad, after all we now own collector's items and their value will only go up!:)

sorry to hear it, Sandi. But it's good to see you guys have your priorities straight. Best wishes.

It is nice feel wanted and needed by our family here on the forum. We are not saying good bye, we will still be here as always. It is just time that we take a break and enjoy life. Terry and I are 31 and our kids are still small but they won't be for long. This time in our life will only happen once and we want to enjoy our kids. Life is too short to be working all the time. It is time to get back to the really important things. We are all healthy, nothing to worry about there.

I had an e-mail about canvas covers a little while ago and this is something that I can still do. Just send me an email if you need one but other than that the Sarki Shop is closed. The main thing is that the work Terry does on the khukuri is very time consumming. It is just too much.

God Bless,:)
Sandi

P.S. The khukuris on the For Sale Page are still up for sale if any one is interested. Group #2 is sold but the others are still available.
