Here's a few examples of the quality products turned out by Terry Sisco and the Sarki Shop. Terry, I hope you don't mind, but I want to share this with the forumites here who may not be familiar with your work.

From top to bottom:

1. Bura hanshee scabbard that had split due to blade penetration from inside. I attempted to glue and rewire back together, and in doing so broke the wooden liner in about four places. Terry reconstructed and re-covered the scabbard with new leather.

2. Pen-knife with OD scabbard cover, after one season of hard use in the field as a hunting knife.

3. Son's 15" AK with Mossy Oak scabbard cover.

4. Trishul Decker sheath.

5. Kesar M43 with body-bag scabbard cover. (Scabbard was split and successfully repaired by me, I wanted to get a cover on it to protect the wire wrap.)

Good looking work!

Fills me with all sorts of ideas...

I also have several of the covers, in OD, tan, and brown; Sandy does excellent work.

Raghorn,
Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you like them.
I was wondering if you got the package yet.
God Bless.
Terry

Thanks Terry, I wasn't able to get to the PO until yesterday. Awesome work, as usual!

I'm getting ready to send 18" AK for New cover and The Bilton,I would like a new sheath for it.:D Saving monies........:o
Nice pics rag.

This is long overdue, but seeing the thread reminded me... I FORGOT TO POST IT>>>

Terry did a custom sheath for a knife that Wal bought me...

It is one EXCELLENT piece of leather!! I wish I had access to a camera so I could show everyone (sorry Terry), but I couldn't get it shot before I left the paper.

Suffice to say, I've been wearing it everyday! I wouldn't hesitate to send anything else to the Sarki Shop for repair or creation!

Thanks Terry!!!

Alan

These covers look great, but how do they work? Do they pull on over the original leather, lace over the leather or completely replace the leather? Also, do you have to send in the khuk and scabbard, just the scabbard or just specify which size khuk and put it on yourself? They sure look like something I could use.

The covers slip over the scabbards and are held in place by the frog. For those, you only need to send in the scabbard. They're very durable and protect the scabbard in the field, and you can take them off and wash them if you need to.

Thanks for the info. This is exactly what I need. Being left-handed I have to flip the scabbard around in the frog so it will hang on the passengeur's side. This means the Chakma and Karda are on the outside, and that doesn't bother me but it leaves the scabbard stitching exposed to brush, etc. Those covers would be just the thing.

Cliff, Terry can fix the scabbards into left handers or make new left handers for the khuks.
It wouldn't cost you all that much for new scabbards and then if you ever wanted to sell a khuk you could offer both right and left hand.
The left hand scabbards are also great for cross draw.:)

That is an even better idea. Trying to sell a left-handed anything is almost impossible and spare scabbards would keep the official right-handed ones in good shape. I'll get a hold of Terry in the next week or so and see what he has to say. Thanks.
