Anyone using a large Spec Ops sheath for their Sarsquatch? If so, how did it fit? Hoping to score one tonight, would like to be able to use a sheath I have on hand. Don't wanna waste any time before I get to beat on it.:D

That was me. Gotta cut it. Well, not GOTTA. It's thinner than my CS SFNO so I think it's got a shot at fitting with the boilin'water trick - but that trick has NEVER worked for me.

I dremeled the spine-area of the insert until it went in. Doesn't harm the knife, nor the integrity of the sheath.

i never got it to fit with my ash (which i think is just as wide). cutting it definitely works though.

I got my CGASH to fit and will try with the Squatch. It took me two attempts reheating both times in the oven.

To get it to fit I had to keep heating up the sleeve with a heat gun. I think an HG works better than soaking it in boiling water. Here is a pic of the knife outside the sheath. Although the pic doesn't show, the knife fits perfectly and no cutting was necessary.

I don't mean to hijack, but I have a couple questions for luckee about the spec-ops sheath.

Does the belt loop have a button that snaps off? Or is it sewn shut and you have to slide the belt through.

And when you find the camera, could you also take a good picture of the back of the sheath, I'd like to see how the webbing is and if it'll attach to my pack.

Thanks.

Mr Pink....Sup...On the Lrg Spec Ops Suvival sheaths the belt loops unsnap. I am pretty sure there is a daisy chain on the back. Ill let you know for sure when I get home. Shoot me an email when you get a chance so i have yours.
