Have both, like both. Can't decide which to keep and start using but I decided that one will go to a new home. I would say that both are equally comfortable for me, so just some input for my consideration please.

Thank you in advance.

Man been there!!! I guess it depends on what your going to do with it. The C-W is heavier, more junk in the trunk and is a better chopper, while the SarSq is a better slicer. Keep them both. If you must sale, always figure what will the knife be used for the most. I don't know of ANY knife that will be used for everything but the pick should your most user type. Good luck in your decision...

Definitely keep the Chopweiler!
And send the SARsquatch to me!!!

This should answer your question ;)

Yes, it is a tough question.

I have always wanted a chopweiler. I almost traded for one before I got the SarQ. I have used the SarQ for a few years. It is a great middle ground. Chops well for it's size, without being too heavy. It is thin enough I have used it in food prep.

I trimmed 40lbs of chicken breast with mine, and had no complaints.

I had both... sold the Chopweiler. The "no regrets" thing didn't really work... I regret selling that knife.

They are similar in size, but completely different... RUSS has it right, keep both! Or you'll regret it... ;)

Great advice, you guys have made me realize I was asking such a stupid question! Looks like they will both be getting some love. I was stuck with the feeling that these 2 knives are so much the same, but still so different.

I would go with the Chopweiler or Ratweiler! Both knives are just perfect, "jack of all trade" type knives. My Dad doesn't share my appreciation of cutlery, but after taking down a couple of bamboo stalks with a Ratweiler...he was a true believer!

How about the mastiff! Great feeling blade. That one will probably be getting sold first (choosing to keep a battle mistress in each flavor, BWM & CGFBM & NMFBM, as choppers. Everything I was going to reach for the mastiff I couldn't resist the BWM. That is definitely my go-to and favorite. So it will be sell mastiff before breaking it in.

Don't have either, but love my Ratweiler. I would keep the Chopweiler. Seems to me that the swedge on the back of the knife would not be conducive to battoning, if needed.

Good god. Feeding an alligator or something?

Ha!

We regularly buy 40LB boxes of chicken from a place called Zaycon Foods (direct farm/processer to consumer sales). They sell the food by the case (40lb for the chicken). They have a truck that comes through town. Pretty fresh chicken (also sell beef, pork etc).

As long as you don't mind spending some time with cold hands, trimming it up. It is so much cheaper than buying from Walmart (about 1/2 the price). We don't buy much beef (get most from my folks who buy 1/2 a cow at least once or twice a year).

I share the sentiment, if you are willing to wait about 2 weeks I'll gladly take the Chopweiler!
